Andrew Warhola better known as Andy Warhol, was an American artist born on August 6, 1928 and died on February 22, 1987. It was the most prominent figure of the pop art movement.
After a successful career as an illustrator for magazines and advertising, Warhol became famous worldwide for his work as avant-garde painter and filmmaker. As a public figure is recorded as having been involved in diverse social circles, even antagonistic, as the bohemian New York, renowned intellectuals, Hollywood celebrities and wealthy aristocrats.
It was a controversial figure during his lifetime - some critics called her work as pretentious or teasing - and since his death in 1987 is the subject of numerous retrospective exhibitions, books and documentaries. Not surprisingly, he is considered one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century.
