Buenos Aires: World Book Capital 2011

As part of preparations for the designation of Buenos Aires as World Book Capital 2011, will be placed in different parts of the city thirty plates with fragments of works of literature in Argentina.

The plates that rescue quotations from authors such as Jorge Luis Borges, Adolfo Bioy Casares, Julio Cortázar, Leopoldo Marechal, Roberto Arlt, Osvaldo Soriano, Ernesto Sabato and Alejandro Dolina, be placed in different neighborhoods of Buenos Aires.

The project includes the placement of a total of fifty plates, thirty of which will be placed this year, the remaining twenty in 2011.

"Our city is and has been the scene of countless everyday stories, many of them are saved brilliantly in great works of literature. Make them visible is part of the challenge as World Book Capital 2011, ahead," said Lombardi.

The initiative will be presented by the Culture Minister Hernan Lombardi today at 17 am in the bar "The ladder", Tucumán 300.
