A second part of the lucrative American novel of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code "was published in September, said Monday the publishers.

"The Lost Command", starring the main character of "Da Vinci Code, Robert Langdon, will be released in an edition of five million copies on Sept. 15, Brown announced on its website.

"This is a great day for readers and booksellers," said Sonny Mehta, president of the Knopf Publishing Group Doubleday.

"The Lost Command is a brilliant thriller and gripping. The prodigious talent of Dan Brown to do a story with historical elements, codes and intrigue, is amply evident in this new book," he added.

The "Da Vinci Code" novel was the bestseller bestselling adult history, with 81 million copies worldwide, according to the editor. The work was criticized by the Vatican into a film.
