Lex-Folio is a free / freeware.

Lex-Folio is a system developed for BJA - Law Library Argentina intended to classify all types of legal information and bibliography, Doctrine, Jurisprudence, Legislation, and Designs of Writings.

Lex-Folio arises from the need to classify legal material from different sources and formats in a neat and orderly.

The problem many have experienced firsthand when storing legal information is the same ... Where is that written doctrine or case law that went down last year?.

Most legal practitioners is not ordained to store informacón or the best is limited by the options provided by some commercial software.

The idea of ​​Lex-Folio born to this problem by establishing a team to sort and scan information one way and at the same time everyone will have them available in a secure and familiar format, adding each do their part sand to make the database grow steadily.

The Lex-Folio development began in November 2006 and is currently in beta, preparing his first release for the end of March 2008.

1) Update Incremental
Lex-Folio is designed to be continually updated with new digitized and classified material provided by project participants.

2) Material standard digitized format
All material is digital PDF or RTF format.

3) Material compressed to save space
All files are compressed to save space as possible. To place a sample of 500 text files that occupy 9.7 MB DOC converted to RTF and then occupy only 1.5 MB compressed, all without losing your formatting.

The advantage of the RTF in addition to its simple estadart can be opened with any text editor and can not contain macros and is not vulnerable to any virus.

The remaining material is in PDF format used for digital books and law journals.

Includes a database to search for content within Lex-Folio.

5) Autorun CD or DVD
Lex-Folio does not install anything on the windows system, does not require DLL "s. Just add a simple entry in the registry when the system is running for the first time.
