HP Lovecraft (Howard Phillips Lovecraft)



Born in the United States August 20, 1890. He was a writer, author of novels and stories of horror and science fiction. Which provided its own mythology (the myth of Cthulhu).

Lovecraft died of intestinal cancer March 15, 1937 at the age of 46 years. Lovecraft's name is synonymous with horror fiction, his writings, particularly the Cthulhu Mythos, has influenced fiction authors throughout the world, and Lovecraftian elements we find in novels, movies, music, video games, comics and cartoons. For example, the villains of Gotham City in Batman are locked up in Arkham Asylum, Arkham, an invention of Lovecraft. Many modern horror writers like Stephen King, Bentley Little, Joe R. Lansdale, to name a few, have cited Lovecraft as one of his most important influences.
