IBM and Fujifilm announced they are jointly developing a technology that can store 35TB on a single tape (the old tapes).
Companies reported that the tape can store the text of 35 million books from libraries need some 399km to locate and to give an idea of the progress that involved in the development of these tapes is 44 times greater than what could be store above.
The tape measures 800 meters long and half an inch wide and saved 29.5 billion bits per square inch you have.
Was made based on a material developed by both companies. The beauty of this material is that it allows the particles shrink is used to store information. Previously if you tried to reduce these particles magnetism is compromised and the information could be lost. But this new material does not happen.
Why? The companies reported that this technology will be focused on data centers.
