"Populism and Democracy" lecture by Carlos Vilas

Conference "Populism and Democracy", which rendered the political scientist Carlos Vilas, on Thursday 13 May at 18:30 in Hall Residential, Ciudad Universitaria, Córdoba, Argentina.
This activity, with free entry for all age groups, formed part of "Towards the Bicentenary of the country. Córdoba think Argentina and Argentina (1810-2010) "from an agreement signed between the National University of Cordoba and the Ministry of National Education, and is deployed from the open chair" History of political thought and national "School of History FFyH.
The origin of the proposal is linked with the need to create an environment in which to exchange views, ideas, speeches and analysis of what happened in Latin America in the last two centuries.
About Carlos Vilas
Carlos Maria Vilas was born on January 3, 1943, in Realicó, La Pampa. He is a lawyer and Master in Political Science and Public Administration. Since July 2003 he served as director of ETOSS (Tripartite Entity of Sanitation Works and Services) on behalf of the Executive. Previously he was Deputy Minister of Security and Civil Protection of the Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Education and Training Ministry of Security of the Province of Buenos Aires and National Training Director of the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP, 1998-2001).
During 1999-2001 he served as chairman of the board of the Argentine Institute for Economic Development.
On the other hand, has been a consultant to European government agencies in training programs for human resources, social and institutional development, public policy, security and government reform. Consultant UNICEF, UNDP, UNHCR and the OAS in Central America and the Andean region. ECLAC official (1974-76) and advisor to governments in Central America.
He currently teaches graduate UNLa (Master in Public Policy and Government) and the UBA. Previously, he taught at the universities of La Plata, Complutense of Madrid, Autonoma de Barcelona, Columbia, Duke, Florida, Autónoma de Santo Domingo, among other institutions of higher education.
Vilas is author or coauthor of 19 books published in Castilian, English, Portuguese, and over 200 articles in academic and professional journals in Argentina and 16 other countries in Latin America, USA, Canada, England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Denmark , Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Turkey and the Philippines. Most of these works are incorporated into the catalogs of major university and public libraries in Latin America, Europe, USA, Asia and Canada.
