The word is "Self-publishing": self-published through the Internet. How? Through a portal launched few days ago, called Bubok and allows anyone to publish a book do so through the Web. Thus, whoever wants it can get anywhere in the world, in digital format as well as in print.

Bubok (a term that comes from a pun on book - "book" in English, and Owl, Spanish name of the publisher behind the project) was presented last week in Madrid, at a ceremony in which they were, among others, Angel Maria Herrera, head of the enterprise, and Alberto Vazquez Figueroa, Spanish writer's first "recognized" that agreed to publish his books on the Web. In its first week, Bubok received some 50,000 visits, there were 1,500 users and climbed more than 200 books. "It started very well," said Fatima Alvarez, head of operations of the firm Clarín.com.

In presenting the beta version of the site, held on April 16, Herrera said some of the main advantages of the service: "There is initial runs, as the books are printed on demand when someone buys them, 80% of benefits is for the author and publishers can place their funds out of print and online that can occur one at a time. "

What is the procedure of publication? First, register on the site, something as simple as when one wants to open an email account or a blog. Then, upload the files, which must be in PDF format and have a minimum of 30 pages. After deciding other issues such as type of binding, cover design and price of the book, both virtual and downloads for the printed version of a copy. The last step for the author that the book is diffuse and be read anywhere in the world.

The prolific Vázquez Figueroa, 71 years old and over 60 novels to his credit, hung in Bubok two dozen of his works, which can be downloaded free. "I prefer that the reader free to read me that I read. Maybe the next time you decide to buy a book may be mine," he said. Bubok portal even allows access to a video of the writer in which he explains the advantages of publishing on the internet.

Fatima Alvarez explained that books on paper (by the demand printing system) can be sent anywhere in the world. While in Argentina the European cost of service may conspire against its spread, as the price of books ranging from 5 to 24 euros, the possibility of sending is always present.

The Head of Operations Bubok Clarín.com told that "Bubok publish any book, ebook or paper, is completely free," adding that "throughout the publishing process can contract a range of optional pre-publication services, as a correction, layout, custom cover design and management of the ISBN, and promotion, such as mailings, bookmarks, banners, among others.
