2012 (MMXII) is a leap year starting on Sunday of the Gregorian calendar.
According to some New Age beliefs in 2012 was destined to be a great year of transformation. There is disagreement among believers as to whether in the year 2012 there will be the end of civilization, or humanity instead be raised to a higher level. [1] There is no scientific evidence whatsoever to support these beliefs. Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the thirteenth cycle B "k" tun Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 as the most reliable correlation) as an indication that there will be a major change in world order.
Several authors have published books that claim that in 2012 a major event will occur that will transform the world:
* In the book The Secret Code of the Bible published in 1997, Michael Drosnin claims that according to certain algorithms of the Bible's secret code, an asteroid or comet will collide with Earth.
* The book 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl published in 2006, Daniel Pinchbeck discusses various theories of a global awakening to a "psychic connection" would happen in 2012, creating a noosphere.
* In the book published J Records in 2008, MG Harris states that there will be an astral conjunction to the galactic level will cause the destruction of all elective units in the world.
