This story is about John Duncan (man of forty-five years of age). It was an honest man who was very poor, too. He and his two children lived in the miserable little apartment. The furniture was 20 years old, the wallpaper and carpets were cheap and dirty. It was a Window, because his wife, Rachel, drowned in the storm. When he was alive, living in big house in the country with a large garden. They had everything they needed. Then they (John and Rachel) had begun a shipbuilding company, but died after Rachel was unable to work, so that the company had closed and he lost everything. When Mr. Duncan got the job in paint factory, who were starting a new life. He and his children: Christine (sixteen-years old) and Andrew (he was thirteen) moved into their new home comfortable, with a large field next to it and only a mile from the river, so he bought a ship. When John had gone to see Mary, Christine and Simon got home and taken to his boat. They met with his friends, Peter and Susan and they all sailed upriver to the paint factory. They place on the tube (factory) a paper bag full of cement of a few. Then the back of the sail Christine hit hard on the back of the head, so it fell into the water, but Simon saved. This adventure was actually more dangerous because Christine was pregnant. Last two days, the public information service has begun. The scientists arrived from London to ask questions about the disease that was killing the seals. Mr. Duncan had to say that the products of waste is not hazardous (who had to lie, because his boss told him to). The lawyer then spoke of an accident at Christine and drinking lots of water from the River. Mr. Duncan reminded rat babies with six legs and began to scare the baby from her daughter, so he told the whole truth. John Duncan had to move to a small apartment, because he lost his job and could not make payments on their large house. Her daughter was having a baby soon, so he bought toys and baby clothes Meny. But they do not hers, because she would not talk to him. Every morning, a hospital rang to ask if she was there. When the nurse told her that her daughter is there and the baby is coming, went to the flower shop. Then he bought and went to the hospital
