The dark side of happiness ...

Who says that being happy is always good? A study published in the journal Perspectives on Psychological Science reveals that happiness is also a dark side, which should not be seen as a universally good thing, and in some cases may even make us feel bad.

There are many books that tell us how we can achieve happiness. But setting the goal happiness life can be a bad idea, according to researcher June Gruber, Yale University (USA), which ensures that people who strive to achieve this goal may end up feeling much worse feeling it began. In fact, a previous study by Iris Mauss, of the University of Denver, and colleagues found that people who read an article in a newspaper extolling the importance of happiness you feel worse after seeing a movie "happy" or comic those who read an article that talks about being happy. The key, they say, is the disappointment that occurs when those seeking the feeling of happiness do not feel better by doing certain things.

Furthermore, recent studies reveal that feel "too" happy makes us less creative thinking, and tend to take more risks (driving fast, spend the savings ...). On the other hand, be happy for not having a minimum dose of negative emotions that play an important role in life, it is also dangerous. Fear prevents us from taking unnecessary risks, and guilt reminds us to behave well with others. In short, the best way to feel happy is to stop worrying about the happiness and invest energy in maintaining social ties we have with other people. "The rest will follow," says Gruber.
