Google announced that starting this year to sell new books in electronic format.
U.S. Internet giant Google said it will sell this year from new books in electronic format, which could affect the Internet retailer Amazon, the market leader with its Kindle e-book.
"By the end of the year we hope to offer our publishing partners an additional means to sell their books," said a Google spokesman Gabriel Stricker said in a statement. We allow them to "return their books available for purchase from any device that has Internet access," he added.
The spokesman gave no details about the group project, but according to the New York Times is a controversial project in place of digitizing works program launched by Google.
