WASHINGTON .- Google said it will sell this year from new books in electronic format, which could affect the retailer Amazon, the market leader with its Kindle electronic reader.



"By the end of the year we hope to offer our publishing partners an additional means to sell their books," said a Google spokesman Gabriel Stricker, in a press release issued recently.
