World's tallest man marries woman in his hometown

BEIJING (Reuters) - The world's tallest man, whose quest for wife covered the entire planet, he married a woman from his hometown to almost twice his age and is 68 inches shorter than him on Wednesday local media.
Bao Xishun, a pastor of 56 years and 2.36 meters in height that appears in the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest living man in the world, married a 29 year old Chinese saleswoman, the Beijing News said.

"After sending notices of marriage throughout the world and go through a lengthy selection process, efforts have been rewarded," the paper said.

His wife, Xia Shujuan, measuring 1.68 meters, comes from Chifeng in Inner Mongolia region of China, like Bao.

Bao reached his height in a stretch that lasted seven years and began as a teenager and that doctors still can not explain, according to the Guinness Book.

After a career in the army, where he was recruited for a basketball team, he returned to Inner Mongolia, where he works in advertising as well as guarding flocks.
