If you're ready to start learning guitar, you should consider purchasing your own instrument. Maybe you could play the guitar from your teacher the first two lessons, but then need to practice at home to make steady progress.

Many beginners are confused when they see so many choices of guitars-that's why we're here to help you decide exactly what you want and how to get it. We have compiled some common questions on this matter and we have answered for you.
1. What kind of guitar should I buy?

There are two main types of guitar: acoustic and electric. Your choice will depend directly on the style or genre of music you want to play. Acoustic guitars can be of steel strings (for genres such as blues, pop, pop-rock, country) or nylon (the s-called classical or Spanish guitar, more suitable for classical music, jazz, flamenco, etc.)

Electric guitars are specifically (but not limited) to the rock, alternative, metal, funk, etc. To limit your options, it's a good idea about the types of guitar that uses your favorite artist, if you can, test yourself in the music store. If it feels and sounds like you expect, then that should be your choice.
