Stephen Edwin King (Portland, Maine, September 21, 1947) is an American writer known for his horror novels. King's books have been very often in the lists of bestsellers. In 2003 he received the National Book Award for lifetime achievement and contribution to American letters, which was awarded by the National Book Foundation.
