Paperless newspaper

Paper books may have days, we did not know is that possibly the newspapers too, and not by reading through a computer, but by a new electronic device which will receive all the news of the day.

This new journal is the size of a sheet of paper and so light and thin as a magazine and internet can download hundreds of different newspapers in which we spend the leaves with the touch of a button. The prototype screen measures 33 inches diagonally.

Obviously, from the environmental standpoint is a good step as well be prepared to endure bad weather and bad treatment, since both the screen as the internal electronic parts are made of plastic.

"That's why the newspaper is so light, flexible and revolutionary," said Dean Baker, the British designer of the Plastic Logic factory which is producing the newspaper.

It is expected that the new electronic journal is on sale next year, Plastic Logic will reveal its price in January 2009.

New prototype of the "internet tablet" of
TechCrunch

A tablet that serves only to read news and check email. It may sound silly now having many cost laptops to choose from but if you want a decent screen and nothing more, just enough for you the new product being developed by Michael Arrington (founder of TechCrunch) and Louis Monier (founder / ex-chief Altavista technology).

His "CrunchPad" (which is now in the second prototype) integrates a 12-inch touch screen and 4:3 (1024 x 768), with a VIA Nano processor moving the issue in collaboration with 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB memory flash and a 4-cell battery. The WiFi chipset will inevitably connect to the network of networks from the cafeteria, while the integrated webcam adds the ability to connect with friends via video (or upgrade your album on Facebook, as you see).

By using low cost components and the invaluable help of Ubuntu, expect to get a production cost of 200 dollars (152 euros al cambio), with the intention of selling the final model for about $ 300 (229 euros). So when the time comes, because for now we still are a little green. Got a video after the jump.
