Naruto] (NARUTO -ãã«ã-) is a manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto and adapted to anime by Hayato Date, which tells the story of a hyperactive adolescent ninja, unpredictable and noisy named Naruto Uzumaki, who aspires to become Hokage busily, the ninja in his village, in order to be recognized as someone important in it. The series is based on a one-shot that Kishimoto made in August 1997 issue of Akamaru Jump.2 Since 1999 Naruto is published by Shueisha in the Japanese edition of Shonen Jump, 3 being collected since then in 50 volumes. The manga made his story was adapted into an anime produced by Studio Pierrot and distributed by Aniplex, which was broadcast on terrestrial television channel TV Tokyo on October 3, 2002. The first season lasted 220 episodes, while continuing Naruto: ShippÅ«den began broadcasting on February 15, 2007. In addition, Pierrot Studios has produced six films with several original animated video based on Naruto. Other pieces of merchandise include a series of light novels, video games and trading card collection developed by different companies.
Both the manga and anime have reached a remarkable distribution abroad, being published in over 23 countries and broadcast in more than 60.4 May 6 Spanish versions are published by Glénat publishers (in Spain), 7 Larp Publishers (in Argentina) 8 and Vine (in Mexico and the rest of Latin America), 9 while the publication in English is held by VIZ Media, which has become one of the most successful publishing company. The delay involving the translation and adaptation has encouraged Internet distribution (by scanlation and fansub) appear shortly in Japan, 10 with what the work is spread long before it officially translated in other countries.
Up to volume 46, Naruto has sold over 90 million copies, becoming the fifth best-selling manga historia.11 Similarly, the English adaptation was his appearance on the list of the best books of all time by USA Today ( 2006, Volume 11 won the Quill Awards) .12 Naruto was also the third best-selling manga Shueisha in 2007, surpassed only by One Piece and Nana, 13 while in 2008 was the second best-selling manga in Japan, only surpassed by One Piece.14 In the ranking of the top 100 anime TV Asahi, 2006 (according to a Japanese survey online), Naruto reached the seventeenth puesto.15
