Mark Osbourne (Kung Fu Panda) will direct "The Little Prince '
The director of Kung Fu Panda (2008), Mark Osborne has signed to direct the European adaptation of The Little Prince.

The Gallic S3D-driven project will develop a 3D animated film based on the novel written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, which since its publication in 1943 has become one of the best-selling books of all time, adapted many opportunities for various film and television productions.

In the original text of the story follows an aviator who is lost in the Sahara desert after having been a failure in his plane. That's where you see a strange little boy who claims to be the captain of his own planet.

In the talks that the pilot keeps with him, "the narrator reveals his own vision of human stupidity and the simple wisdom of children that most people lose when they grow up and become adults."

The animation will have a star voice cast and production is scheduled to begin in 2012. It is considering a release date for 2014.
