But if Christ is preached that he rose from the dead
How say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
If there is no resurrection of the dead, Christ is not risen.
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching is vain and your faith.
And we are found false witnesses of God;
because we have testified of God that he raised Christ
which has not been raised, if in fact the dead are not raised.
For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised;
And if Christ be not risen, your faith is futile; are still in your sins.
Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
If in this life only we have hope in Christ,
are the most miserable of all men.
But now is Christ risen from the dead;
firstfruits of them that slept.

And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
I assure you, brethren, by the glory that I have you in our Lord Jesus Christ, I die daily.
If as a man struggled against beasts at Ephesus, what's the use? If the dead rise not eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.

abounding in the work of the Lord,
knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
