A Firefox extension for some derisively call "Pirates of Amazon" is responsible for obtaining the download links to content pirates who are the counterparts of movies or music available at the online store.
It's like buying on Amazon, but this extension does is that when you click on the link to the content displayed a button called "download 4 free" on product page, and that link leads to the same content to be downloaded through The Pirate Bay BitTorrent tracker.
The functionality is available for CDs, DVDs, games, books and basically anything that can be converted to digital format. Although the extension developers have used The Pirate Bay as the tracker for these operations, they would actually do to act independently with other types of trackers and P2P resources. Since such extensions exist for services such as IMDB or Last.fm, but the arrival of Amazon is particularly striking.
