The Government announced that from May will begin digital terrestrial television broadcasts free of charge and cover year-end 75% of the entire country.
The announcement was made by the Federal Planning Minister Julio De Vido, closing a forum on the new system, along with the Ministers of Science and Technology, Lino Barañao, and Education, Alberto Sileoni.
Next April 15 will begin testing the new satellite signal, it will be able to transmit to the Federal Capital in May, and in 2012 will reach across the country, according to De Vido.
The broadcasts will begin next May with a transmission plant donated by the Japanese government, which is already installed on the old public works building, which now runs the Ministry of Social Development.
