Pablo Antonio Smithies, known as Forges (Madrid, January 17, 1942) is a Spanish cartoonist.

Son of Catalan and Galician father mother, spent his childhood in a large family that is the second of nine children. It was a bad student but an avid reader of Richmal Crompton and books about William Brown. He studied at Madrid Telecommunication Engineering studies (not completed) and Social Sciences. In 1956 at 14 years start to work as coach of Spanish television and telecine and image mixer since 1962. TVE left template coordinator being in 1973 to study in the business of graphic humor. He had published his first drawing in 1964 at the Village newspaper, the hand of Jesus Hermida, and then went on to information.
