The Argentina's most famous book that never existed goes on sale
It is "The Book of Petete Gordo", a publication that is part of the collective memory of four generations of Argentines, though it never existed.
During the decades of the '70s and '80s, Petete character, created by cartoonist and comic Manuel GarcÃa Ferré, starred in a short television series, issued in Latin America and Spain, which then led to partworks, but never published in book format. At least not today. The publication will be released on November 3.
For its part, starting this month Crónica TV re-broadcast these shorts in a decision that, along the relaunch of the entire collection of "The Adventures of Hijitus" in DVD format, marks the return of characters that made it ages, leaving mark on the child's grandparents and parents of the kids today.
With universal themes that are always in place, tailored to the interests of the kids today, "The Book of Petete Gordo" became an "encyclopedia" theme illustrated that not only brings expertise, but also fun. The endearing character shares knowledge in a clear and entertaining, based on the premise that "a strong culture, heritage safer."
GarcÃa Ferré, creator of little glasses, Trapito, CalculÃn and Lanky, among other characters, he signed a contract with V & R Publishing for the publication of a series of books written by him. Last August the publisher released the book of games and entertainment "and amiguitus Hijitus, with over 50 games and pastimes for girls and boys.
On the other hand, the September 22 GarcÃa Ferré be appointed by the Legislature Distinguished Citizen of the City of Buenos Aires. The tribute will take place at 10.30hs. in the Golden Hall of the Legislature (Peru 130), where the comic will speak with journalist Horacio de Dios. The event will be a short film screening and a sample of some of the original productions of the artist.
