That GNU / Linux is more difficult to manage
Sure, everyone thinks that. I will not say that using Linux is harder or easier to use Windows. It's just a matter of people are accustomed to using the Microsoft OS.
However, wandering around the web and read a little of everything, I found this paragraph in Wikilearning.
It's called "15 Myths About GNU / Linux" and one of them is entitled "Linux is difficult to manage" and tells us about this particular topic, with three stories, the third in particular I seem to have no waste.
I invite you to read and talk about their experiences.
1. Once you fix a computer for a small office. As I do in this case, first I supported the entire hard drive, then format the disk and reinstall the OS with the software (all Windows users know what I mean because they must do each year, like it or not). At the end I copied the folders back, make sure it works and return the equipment. Three hours after an irate architect I claimed that all files were lost, I had erased and all were very important. I was very concerned to see it because I like being serious in my work, I arrived I explained, "all was lost" according to them, because the folder "projects" of the "wallpaper" was not. Actually the folder in C: / My Documents / Projects did not have a shortcut to the desktop as it was not there, it did not exist. Someone had done that shortcut years ago and was the only way they knew to reach them, as well as recent files "File" menu of Excel. In that same company had a secretary who boasted of using the advanced tab to format Word documents instead of giving many spaces.
2. After a heated discussion, I bet a colleague a meal if I could find on the floor where we worked, three people who knew to change the IRQ of your mouse. It is worth mentioning that the floor was a bank where they worked more than fifty college graduates. That day I ate free.
3. About a month ago, a neighbor came to ask a favor if you could download and print a Word document that had been sent by hotmail, at the time I was using KDE. She opened Mozilla, went to hotmail, when you download the file, OpenOffice.org Mozilla suggested she said OK, the file was only two pages, change a few titles and the spelling words under it, gave a click on print, compose hotmail response, stood up to go with your print in the door I said "weird windows", then thanked me and left. She had used Linux without even realizing it. Of course, everything was fine because the EAM was correctly configured, like a factory OEM equipment.
It is not difficult to make Linux and Windows easily, what happens is that we are the first generation of users and what we found was Windows, MacOS or if it was NeXT or OS / 2 we had learned to struggle with that, but actually Windows or Linux have the same degree of difficulty.
