Norman Gary Finkelstein (born December 8, 1953) is a political scientist and author, specializing in issues related to Judaism, Israel and Zionism and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in particular.

Political views

Finkelstein is known for his writings with a critical view of the role of Israel in the Arab-Israeli Conflict and its contention that the Holocaust is being exploited by pro-Israeli political purposes and to finance political actors at the expense of current survivors (see The Holocaust Industry). Self-described "forensic scholar, his books are used as tools to reverse a leading academic school of thought which would allegedly contaminated with inaccuracies and was allegedly sometimes even fraudulent. The authors are then marked, including Daniel Jonah Goldhagen and Alan Dershowitz, in addition to others such as Benny Morris whose work Finkelstein cites with approval, was accused in turn of misinterpretation of his books and get them out of context.
